The Many Different Looks Of Katy Perry At The 2012 MuchMusic Video Awards
Katy Perry sure knows how to shake things up. Considering what was going on with Justin Bieber and baby half-bro Jaxon, and Selena Gomez, Carly Rae Jepsen and random shirtless dudes at the 2012 MMVA’s, it took a lot to stand out and make splash. But this is Katy, we’re talking about. Who better to make splash then her? She arrived at the awards show in a purple wig in a crazy, semi-sheer, black Vawk Resort 2012 gown. Is it just us or does the gilded top half look like armor? But she wasn’t alone on the red carpet. Katy arrived with a brood of children all dressed up as characters from her videos from her album Teenage Dream. And they all walked hand-in-hand-in front of her, like a little army. Which probably explains her breastplate.
Katy also performed Wide Awake live, dressed first as a cocoon of sorts, out of which a sparkling butterfly — Katy, herself, obvs — emerged. Her wings were absolutely gorgeous though. The nude sparkling bodysuit was a little too Britney Spears circa her 2004 video forToxic, as well as Jennifer Lopez at the 2011 AMA’s. Katy changed yet again to accept her award for “International Video of the Year” for Last Friday Night wearing black and nude lace, paisley-inspired top and black trousers. She also won “UR Fave International Artist or Group” which she accepted wearing her flesh-colored, bedazzled body stocking, and nothing else.
