Tia and Tamera recap; Tia defends perception she bullies Tamera
On last week's episode of Tia and Tamera on The Style network, Tia Mowrydidn't come off as sympathetic to her sister Tamera Mowry-Housley at all. While Tamera was busy looking for work in the field, Tia was busy filming a musical which is Tamera's dream. It may have been editing, but it appeared as if Tia was rubbing in Tamera's face a bit. You cannot control how others perceive a packaged episode.  No doubt, the commentary to and about the sisters after the episode aired were pretty critical.
"I really feel like Tia Mowry is the bully twin...everytime I watch an episode shes belittling her sister....def turned off from her now...," one viewer Tweeted,
prompting Tia to reply, " actually there is no BULLY here:) the sis Tamera Mowry luv each other so much! Love ya sis!"
Tamera replied "love u too! Have a beautiful night. Give Cree hugs and kisses."
I can relate as well. I have written hundreds of articles, columns and opinion pieces over the past five years in my life as a part time blogger, columnist and political analyst on various sites. Despite having a pretty full and comprehensive portfolio of various informative and thought-provoking pieces published on various sites, I've had three occasions when I've written stories that included quotes where the persons quoted felt I had taken their statements out of context.  On all three occasions, the quoted individuals expressed their disappointment online, which is virtually permanent for other people who I ask to interview to see.
I make sure to audio record each and every interview to make sure that I come to close as possible to near exact to what the interview subject tells me. Notwithstanding, you cannot always control how people will perceive their own words once strung together with others' quotes and included in a full article. It's akin to reality television where subjects complain that editing distorted reality or their true understanding about how an event went down.
And for personal privacy protection as well, companies like Reputation.com, for example, are great for protecting your private information from being stolen as well.
Rampant online fraud is getting out of control. Harnessing and taking ownership of what is personal and private information is floating out there about you in the Internet is the first step.
And for businesses, and those who make their living or promote their businesses or brands online, it is important to periodically run a  "Google" or "Bing" search to see what is being said about you or your product. It's hard to control what others put out there, but before you can take action in clearing up any misunderstanding, you've got to first know what's being said!
Like my childhood cartoon friend G.I.Joe used to say, "Knowing is half the battle!"
